Good evening!
Just noticed it is almost 7:30 and not dark out yet.  Cool!  Logan, I am glad you have a solution for Andrew's transportation.  I hope you get a bit of gardening time in.  I must say the pedicure and especially time with your niece sounds like fun.   Nira, I hear you, about going out to survey what needs to be done.  I am hoping to get a bit of that done tomorrow afternoon.  I will be working in the morning.  I was surprised it took this long for working on the weekend to become necessary considering this hot project at work.  I am fine with it.  It is part of the job.  I took a quick look around this evening.  My daffs are so ready to bloom.  One brave soul got halfway out yesterday and then just stopped.  It never got out of the 40s today.  It chose to stay status quo.  We have rain/sleet predicted for tomorrow evening.  We had frost this morning.  I am amused by my snow plow snow pile... now down to a wee patch of snow.  I suppose I could help it along...but curious to see how long it lasts.  I noticed yesterday I have a shrub out front that is in full bloom of ... dangly purplish/pink thing a ma jiggys....not the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen but not ugly... funny about that... I don't recall that shrub ever blooming before.  I have lived here 9 years.  Perhaps the winter was such... it rallied?  Or maybe it is not a shrub, but rather a huge weed that took hold and I didn't notice??   No, I think it has always been there, but never bloomed before...... will get a closer look at it tomorrow afternoon.

Pam, sounds like you made out okay at the library sale!  smiley: smile
Miss Jeans, how terribly clever of you to loan your tiller to someone who would get it running again!

I took my house portable phone with me today... definitely needed a new battery.  I tossed it on the passenger seat in my car thinking I would stop at Radio Shack on my way home from work.  And I did stop and I did get a new battery.  It was just that part where I was on my way after work and wanted something out of my purse and then dug that out and tossed my purse (war bag, doesn't weigh enough to make the air bag light go on, but not exactly lightweight) back over on the passenger seat and it hit the buttons just right on the portable phone and......smiley: eek....BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP and blinking display and ...oh bother....what the????  I don't believe in answering/talking on cell phones while driving.... I feel incredibly guilty if I ask my GPS to override the safety feature and let me program an address while driving, I only do it if I am hopelessly lost....so fighting with the beeping phone went against the grain....I did manage to lower the volume.. to beep, beep, beep, beep, beep... no, hitting the off button did not work.  At least I could hear my music and didn't think everyone else could hear my beeping phone.  Has anyone else ever noticed that when you want to hit a red light...actually preferably a yellow light so you have the full time allocation to figure out how to make the darn thing stop beeping... thinking a re-boot... pull the battery... hey, that would work, I was going for new battery anyhow.... it is all green lights!  smiley: ohwell
Then I was on the highway... and then I was in the parking lot by radio shack... okay... figure this out... push here... I am sure that is how you open that up and get the battery unplugged....  wouldn't budge... okay.... I can't be the first person and probably not the last person to walk into Radio Shack with a beeping phone.  Someone was waiting by the door to help the next customer buy stuff they didn't really need... could he help me?  Yes, make this thing stop beeping please!  It has gone crazy!  He took it from me and fought with it and finally got the back cover off and pulled the connector to the battery and ...... silence...finally.  I wanted a new battery please... He took the old battery and selected the new battery and we did the financial transaction.  Considering how much the battery cost, I was wondering how much a new phone would cost...but that is not very environmentally friendly.....He pushed the packaged battery across the counter towards me and then went to hand me my phone but stopped to put the cover back on.  NO!  please, don't put the cover back on, I haven't been able to get it off.  Oh, he says.... would you like me to put the new battery in for you?  (now, there is a concept...that was sort of what I was expecting).... Oh, please if you wouldn't mind, I would so appreciate that!  Thank you so much for your help!  He had some problems with the connector... lots of problems with the connector... he called over another store worker to help him... the other store worker explained to him he had the wrong battery....(thank GOD, I expect Radio shack to do that job and wasn't home fighting with it myself)...okay so that guy finds the right battery and takes 10 minutes to wrestle it into the phone.... by then the store manager had come over.  The first guy asks me very politely if I wanted to take the old battery home with me so I could recycle it?  The second guy says they could recycle it for me if I didn't want to take it home with me.  I replied, I really have so much stuff in my house, I try not to take home stuff I don't need, if you could recycle it for me, that would be great.  The store manager said.... don't need more stuff at home, especially if it is dead?  I hear you!  Did I mention she was laughing!

My phone works now.... I charged it up appropriately.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
