banana dance That's the happy dance.... tomatoes seeded Sunday past are erupting. smiley: happy Brandywine broke thru this morning, True Black Brandywine and then the Kellog's Breakfast. I guess the statisticians need to peek often. flirt I expect the rest to follow quickly. They are on the heat pad and the light is now on.

We had a few inches of snow over the past 24 hours and it is gone already for the most part. There remains a chance of wet snow/rain tonight as we return to a warming trend for the weekend. While the temperature hover about 0C under clouds the greenhouse warmed to about 10C. After removing the sprouted plants, all that remains are seeded trays awaiting germination naturally.

The brush clearing resumed yesterday with several burn piles seeming to spontaneously combust. smiley: laugh Deb is good with a package of matches. flirt

The chainsaw is still in the shop. I dropped in during visiting hours to confirm the procedures were covered under the warranty thus free. In absence of the chainsaw the whippersnipper with the brush blade will work on the lighter stuff; a few limb need be removed on a huge spruce tree and a few trunks emerging from a single root of a birch need removal. There are a few more trees to come down as we clear up the area towards the creek. One feelowed slowed and stopped along the road to compliment us on our clearing efforts. thumbs up After thank yous Deb remarked, "Lots of people routinely watch our progress but none has yet to drop in the give a hand." lol So much for a close knit community.

Hope we get a few weeks of fine warm days to give growth to the cover crops before we need to till it under. A strong growth will add a lot more of the nutrients and organic matter. A good two weeks should preceed any plantings to avoid any toxicity problems. There are still a lot of rocks visible that need removal so a few dry days may offer a chance to make a few passes with the wheelbarrow. Last frost of just over a month away. smiley: wink Lots to do before ... dance

For fast relief... try slowing down. image
