Kathy, I'll say it again, it's the pits growing old.  My GERD was messing with me today, but I did get a  little bit done.  No digging ditches or anything, but I found if I knelt a lot instead of bending over at the waist and some good old fashioned four point crawling techniques, I could root out some stray chives along the raised beds and lay down some of that rolled paper and landscape fabric on the garden walkways.  I am so not going to be weeding weeds all summer!!!  Take that you little beggars!

It's been years since I've trundled up North to a Sam's.  It is hard to believe that you and David went in, saw, and came out empty handed!  Wow........

We had a pretty nice day for day.  It felt much warmer than  73 even with the wind whipping around.  Dan, I can hardly wrap my mind around the fact that you had snow, of all things, today!  Pam, you are certainly getting in the groove for spring, too!  All you seed starters are doing great!  I decided not to start anything indoors.  It is just too warm outside and so I am going to go with a modified cloche and see how that works.  That will mostly involve some plastic milk jugs in special spots in the raised beds!

Patti, I have to admit that Ron went and got one of the Mega Millions today.  Haven't got a chance in you know what, but it it is nice to dream a bit!  lol  Just think of all the perennials and bulbs!!!

George, did you see that article about the gastric bypass helping, or even curing some folks with diabetes?  I agree, in that is a horrible condition.  It cut my grandad's life short as he died from complications when he was only 63.  Terrible circulatory problems, although nothing as severe as what your Mom had.  That's just awful and I am sorry that she suffered as she did.  I am hoping all is well with you and your family.  I did not know that the Bitter Melon was therapeutic.   I tried, but didn't know what I was doing when the neighbor across the back gave me a few to fry up.  They were the Pakistani couple that taught at the University.  Really nice people.   I used to really enjoy talking to them about the things they grew in their garden!
