Miss Jeans, what fun! thanks for sharing!  You sold a caterpillar?  Laughing!  I wish I could have gone to hear your talk, buy a caterpillar, and enjoy a nice plant shopping experience!  What daylilies did you bring home?

We had a lovely day.  Not quite as warm as promised but we all know that you just can't trust weather forecasters!  It was fine in the sun.  We are still behind on rain but you can't tell that from the healthy growth of weeds.  I am wondering how I am going to feel tomorrow.  I would like to hope better than I would if I hadn't been exercising in the winter months.

One sister called while I was outside so left a message. She will be stopping over at Mom's Saturday afternoon but her children will all be working or off to some event with her ex-husband's family.  I will miss not seeing them but that paves the way for surf and turf.  My brother and his family and my other sister and her family have other plans so presumably it will just be the 3 of us.  Mom is still craving a lobster, probably because she hasn't had one in forever.  I don't understand how you could eat a lobster if you can't bear to throw one in the pot.  Mom doesn't understand how I grew up in New England and don't  eat seafood.  The sister planning to come doesn't eat seafood either.  (And I suppose I wouldn't enjoy steak so much if I had to butcher the cow, but I don't have to!)  So Lobster and Steak is on the menu.   Potato salad.  Some veggies.  And then we will go plant shopping.

I love tradition.  I will buy Mom impatiens for Mothers Day.  She grows them in pots by the steps to the deck at the summer place.  And we will pick out some herbs.  I love it when they have overgrown 4" pots of about 200 basil they didn't have time to dibble out.  And we get heirloom tomatoes. And I always buy my hanging basket plant for beside my front door.  And a hanging plant for Mom's back door.  I tried blue lobelia for years but it doesn't last through the summer heat so now I just pick out a trailing geranium.  I pull the garden wagon through about 8 greenhouses.  Mom takes an hour (okay perhaps some exaggeration) to pick out the colors for a flat of impatiens.... and we have a lovely time!

I am pretty confident my team has at least one if not two, full sun, garden plot(s) at work so will be thinking what we might put in them.  I have to ask the garden co-ordinator if he meant business about nothing being over 4'.   Hey, it isn't my fault if indeterminate tomatoes go higher than that....  yes, perhaps best not to ask the question!

I suppose I should do laundry and pay bills and do my exercise and ....

have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
