Hello all! Still in NYC but leaving for home tomorrow morning. Tonight we celebrate Nick's 31st birthday. He said this one is bothering him more than the 30th. It probably took a year to sink in that he was past 30! lol

It has been overcast most of the time I've been here, with a few hours here and there sunny. It has rained a little today but it's more a light drizzle.

I went on an adventure today in the car. Never, I say Never, go on an adventure in a car in NYC. I ended up going across the Manhattan Bridge twice trying to get to a Home Depot in Brooklyn! Oh and I saw more than I ever want to see again of Chinatown. This was all because I wanted to buy Nick a drill for his birthday.

I might have already said this but I lucked out finding a parking spot right in front of Nick's apartment and I did not have to move it until this morning. Having to move the car for street cleaning is a real pain in the rear. I never did find another spot when I returned so I just pulled the car into a parking garage. When I got back to Nick's street the parking was banned due to a film crew working here the next couple days. I don't know what it is about this street but this is the 3rd time I couldn't park due to filming. It really is an ugly street so it escapes me why this street is chosen so much. Look it up on Google street view -- E. 9th street between 1st and A avenues - and I think you'll agree that it ain't pretty. Someone was being photographed and I had to walk out in the street to get around the crew yesterday. I say 'someone' as I didn't have a clue but he was an attractive older man. Maybe a model? NYC is always an interesting place to be, but am sooo glad I don't live here even if there are older attractive men being photographed and film crews on your street.

Nick and I have had a good time together so am glad that I made the trip. I also went to the NYC public library yesterday and found a book that will most definitely help in my family research. And I have also been walking a LOT. Feels good so need to keep it up when I return home.

Sounds like everyone is getting into the swing of Spring planting, etc. I created two raised beds across from our driveway close to the house just before I left town. Can't wait to get back so I can plant the onions and start beets. Patti, Cian tells me that we have been getting a lot of rain while I've been gone. It must be missing you for some reason. Maybe I have to be there to direct it on it's way to you! (edit: you posted while I was typing ... guess you don't need me after all lol)

Should be home tomorrow between 1 and 2 pm. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed but will miss spending time with Nick.
