Hi, me again.
I got all the plants out of thetomato boxes and got the boxes stowed in the garage.  I put down another flattened cardboard box for the plants to sit on.  It is easier to keep them in the driveway as they are not at their destination so have to get loaded back up again and are in close proximity to the water spigot, but didn't want them sitting on hot blacktop.  That cardboard it going to be quite the wet mess by the time I am done with it!  smiley: laugh  I believe in watering plants well when they are adjusting.  Actually the ones from the plant place I went to this morning were very dry.   I find that a less than positive sign with a plant place.

I got the basil dibbled out.  I was wrong in my estimate of how much there was.  Not even in the ballpark on that one!  Fortunately in the right direction!  I dibbled them out into 3"x4" seed starter flats filled with potting soil mixed with grow mix.... always confuses me... aren't flats, a collection of them?  Never mind.... If they all take I will have over 100 basil plants.  smiley: happy  I don't think you can have too many basil plants.  My ratio of basil to tomato plants would be about 4 to one.... sounds about right to me.  Of course, I only say that, as it is what it is!  Okay, if I planned it, perhaps 3 basils to one tomato........Oh, does that mean I should buy more tomato plants?????  smiley: roll   I think I am done buying plants for at least 24 hours!  But you never know!  smiley: wink  The thought crossed my mind that maybe people don't know if each clump per cell is 10+ basils, you need to separate them out, not just plant them as a clump... that would not do well... at least I don't think so!

My peonies are staked.  Most were well beyond growth to use a grow through hoop... much better to use a loop around hoop.  One was small enough to be encouraged through the grid support.  I only put that in last year, it is still a baby.  That particular garden needs a huge effort to clean it up.  Vines are getting the better of me!  But despite that, I was pleased by how many bleeding hearts I have.

Out front, the spring phlox is starting to bloom.  The hanging geranium is in place.  It looks like it going to rain all week again.  Hey, maybe soon I can stop saying we need the rain!

Hope everyone enjoyed their day!
