Good afternoon!

Dennis, good to hear that you are a cautious, those people behind me can just get over it, driver!  I would have guessed that anyway.  As long as no one is injured, it doesn't hurt to have the occasional idiot land in a ditch as a lesson to others.  Nira,  I am glad that you have everyone safely there.  That is pretty impressive the airline called Jamie's boyfriend suggesting he move his trip forward.  I am hoping a good friend can get to Boston to have Thanksgiving with her family.  She is coming from Tennessee.  Their flight is tomorrow morning and rumor has it the storm will be over by then.  I would think the people with reservations on a flight would not be bumped for others who had theirs cancelled but I am not sure how it works.

I was up early today checking the weather.  Then I checked what time my snow plow service opens.  Early!  Excellent, so I could call them before I left to run my errands.  I just wanted to be sure that they plowed driveways on Holidays.  I was pretty sure, but if not, I would drop my pies off at my sister's house today to be sure they got there.  The man who answered the phone got laughing at my self proclaimed silly question. Of course they do.  Christmas too, if necessary.  I was a little surprised that he recognized my name.  He told me his, said he was the driver that did my driveway, asked for my address to be sure that he had that right, and then yes, I am on his route.  No worries, I will be able to get out of my driveway.  He thought he would have it all cleaned up, final pass, by the wee hours of the morning.  Nice, I am quite sure I won't be leaving then, but good to know!  I wonder if he is the man I insisted come in out of the cold when he got the plow truck stuck that one time?  That would explain why I am a person as opposed to just a driveway to him.

The first grocery store that I went to wasn't crowded at all.  I suspect most people got their shopping done yesterday, anticipating this storm.  The next store wasn't crowded either.  I got my pies.  Blueberry, apple, dutch apple and mince.  I will stop for a chocolate cream pie tomorrow morning.  One grocery store always stays open.  The weather still wasn't doing much and the temperature was above 40 so I went to the Post Office for my Christmas stamps.  Then I decided that I should get home and get my garage tidied up to get the car in.  I finished that up just as it started to rain.  It has now turned to snow.  Big fat wet snow flakes that covered the lawn in no time.  Still not sticking to the road or driveway.  I am happy to be all set, hunkered down and can just enjoy my afternoon.  Happy Thanksgiving to all those celebrating!
