Good evening,
Nira, sounds like you had a good crafting weekend and you got some rain, but missed the hail. We got the slightest bit of rain late yesterday. Nothing today. One weather report is still calling for possible thunderstorms and rain. The other has given up. There was an email early this morning at work saying the landscapers were out tilling the garden plots. Hurray! Then another guy emailed about two hours later saying they had finished and it looked like they barely tilled more than the top and the garden coordinator should get them back out there to do a better job or at least find out how much they charged!
I am guessing that is it on the tilling. Some of the guys on the team turned over 3 of the plots last Fall. If they dig holes for the plants with a spade, so oversized, that might work. I was too busy at work today to chat up what we should do next. Actually, I had hoped to do so at lunch, but we had a co-worker join us and I was not mentioning the garden plots as he would have jumped in suggesting he would like to be on our garden team. Didn't have time to do any work, but his family could use a steady stream of veggies all summer.... no thanks! Instead, he went off on about how much the food cost in the cafeteria, some communist plot he had recently been made aware of, how he had a permit to carry concealed guns as he felt that was his right and obligation as a US citizen, and more (what I consider) extremely right wing politics. He is welcome to his viewpoints, but he overtakes the entire conversation, gets quite agitated, and if he continues to join us at lunch, I will become a hermit and eat by myself at my desk. Less indigestion that way! I will see tomorrow what folks are willing to get accomplished this week.
I got in early and finished transplanting all the pepper plants. I am going to see if they all took tomorrow morning and then do the hot pepper plant give away.
I hope everyone got their week off to a good start! I hope Dennis's surgery went well.
Now that we have been "tilled", such as it is, please send your extra rain our way!
