I think that there is going to be a lot more "bombed out gardeners" and their cousins doing more to become a bit more self sufficient. I wonderd too if some of those rooftop pigeon/dove cotes will be going to raising a few more chickens? George, do you have a military surplus near you? To keep the hawks away you may want to put your birds under some sort of good netting. You could probably get one of those camo nets--they cover a pretty good area.

One thing I am swtiching to. I'm stopping using paper towels. They have just gotten way too expensive. I've gotten into the attic and recovered a bunch of OLD FASHIONED kitchen and tea towels. Next I am getting a package of cotton cloth diapers to use for wiping down. They handle bleach/ammonia really well, and pop them in the wash, hang out to dry and guess what? You've done your "GREEN".
