Patti, there are so many things that can grab my attention and give me a chuckle during the day. It doesn't take too much, sometimes! Ha! I think I've got a sensitive funny bone!

As for a "child will lead you"..................a puppy makes an open invitation to every child in the neighborhood to come over and play. Who would have thought at my age, I would be having play dates? Actually, I hand out bouncy balls, doggie treats and watch the gymnastics and acrobatics of kids and dog playing soccer (Mac is such a ball hog and doesn't like to share), endless rounds of run and fetch and the new fun thing is, harness, leash, one dog horse power, lots of treats and one very determined little boy with a skate board who thinks it will be the ultimate COOL Kid on the Block, if he can just get the dog to pull him behind! They may figure it out by the end of the summer, but right now it is hilarious to watch him trying to keep Mac just out of the ditch! Oh, and now I have a little volunteer for this Saturday to help me in the garden! As a thank you for letting Mac come out and play!

What got my funny bone yesterday, was a little box turtle about the size of a half dollar, that was still chilly and sleepy from being burrowed in the soil on the less than sunny side of the garden. I'd been rooting around with my handy dandy garden trowel and unearthed it. It was going to take a while to warm it up, so I plopped it into the strawberry bed, next to a great big juicy strawberry, and let it be. I went back later in the day. No turtle, and was there a small bite in the berry? Who would have ever have thought I would have PUT a turtle in the strawberry bed?

Just the simple things, Patti!
