From Wingy:

Borage germinates all too readily - once you've got one plant in your garden, you'll always have some popping up here and there. They are very promiscuous and seed everywhere. I love them. But I have to say, the best results I ever had with germinating Borage was simply by scattering some seeds from a packet over a patch of bare earth underneath the big apple tree by the house one year in early Spring. Next time I looked, I had young plants everywhere and I left them to it. It really did pull in the bees.

I have the blue as well as the white varieties, but I love the way the blue flowers take on a pinkish/mauve tinge once they have been pollinated, just before dropping off. Very pretty indeed. I have cut a large sprig of the white Borage to finish ripening its seeds in the kitchen.

Why wait until next year? No time like the present.
