From Anna: Hmmm...they do have Borage seeds at Burpee. Should I order something else???

From Wingy: You know you want to...

From Anna: I definitely do! It's $3.35 for a package of 150 seeds...that's a lot of seeds. I might end up with this stuff everywhere!

From Wingy: They'll last you at least for the next three or four years, and you could always grow some and donate them, or seeds, to friends or to local schools or other causes/establishments to either grow in their own gardens (Science lesson) or to sell on at their summer fairs to raise funds... just a thought. I used to do just that when I first started off my organic veg business - I used to give all surplus veg/flowers to local places for selling on in fundraising. I also used to take a handful of seeds such as Borage, Sunflowers, Beans etc and take a class at the local nursery schools (kindergartens) and primary schools - kids love sowing seeds and growing things and it's a fun but valuable science lesson too.

From Anna: I never knew you could keep seeds past one year...is this true for all seeds? I have some marigolds, four o'clocks, and I can't remember what else...that I never planted. What about runner beans? I ordered a half pound of those things, and I do not have enough room to plant all those! I don't know what I was thinking...I didn't have time to plant them last weekend, so this weekend is IT!! I must get them in pots and in the ground.

All of our schools are out tomorrow...but that's a great idea to take them to the schools...the elementary school is right nearby, about two blocks away. Next year, I will take my extras to them early, so they have time to use them!

From Jeans: Yes, it's true for most seeds!

I'd love to see the borage under the apples! And I agree with Miss Wings. There is no time like the present, and.... I found two more small plants volunteering in the garden yesterday and have them marked!

From Nira: I will definitely be planting a lot of borage next season since Cian has the bee hives now. He's the one that mentioned getting borage this season as I didn't know that the bees loved it so much.

I'm going to sow lettuce again here soon. I have a plan to keep it shaded so I think it will do ok, even with the summer coming on strong!
