Ingredients:
Pizza dough or french bread dough (I used pre-made roll of french bread dough)
Cold cuts slice thin.... I used proscuitto and ham but will include salami next time... whatever you like
Finely sliced or diced onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes or whatever you like (sweet pickles might be interesting)
Mozzarella and/or any other preferred cheese
Roll dough as thin as you can get it into a rectangle. Lay out cold cuts, sprinkle on diced/sliced veggies, add cheese. Roll the dough up into a loaf (I think the idea is at least one dough layer in the middle.) Place seam side down and tuck the ends down under. Bake at 350F until golden brown. Slice and serve.
Can be served with tomato (marinara?) sauce for dipping.
Could also be sauce inside with ground hamburger or sausage inside, could be anything! Have fun with it!
I opted for cold cuts and cheese as intend to make it for an event where I will serve it room temp and would be less worried about it being perishable.... I think pepperoni would be too greasy.... but that is just my opinion!
