Good morning,
Dennis, is that serious winter weather normal for you this early? Our snow is a bit early and thank you Pam for sending the warmer weather our way. We are supposed to be near 50 today, same for tomorrow and Wednesday. That should get rid of this white stuff. We do have a black ice warning this morning so I think I will run my errands later today. I am glad you had a chance to cover your plants.
Dennis, I would think it would be a bit disheartening to make the effort to go feed people when the weather/roads are so bad and have few people show up. Perhaps it is better that they are safe even if they are hungry. But what about you going out in that?
I agree with you that some people can not accept or can not admit they have made a mistake. I work with a woman like that. She drives me crazy. When we set up the data for new products or product changes, we do testing to be sure everything is correct. If we hit a snag, and I believe the "issue" is on her side, I will contact her and she says she will go check and then she comes back and says everything is perfectly correct, no error in her stuff. If I didn't know this woman so well, I could spend hours chasing down rat holes looking for the issue, engage any number of people to review our data to help me find the problem. We would all be chasing our tails, because although she won't admit she had to correct something, she does correct it. Since I do know this woman well, I just rerun the test to find that the problem has been miraculously resolved. I seem to recall that Jan loved the word Poke-yoke. It is pronounced Pokee-Yokee. A rather silly sounding word to be using in the serious business of manufacturing medical devices, but it is a standard in manufacturing. It means to error proof, quite emphatic that one is not to say idiot proof. The basic concept is that it is human to make errors. A robust process takes that into account and takes step to eliminate human error. Testing our data before releasing it to production is one example. Having parts that are "keyed" so they can only be assembled one way is another. At home, putting the reusable grocery bags back in the car right after you empty them out, so you don't forget as you are leaving for the store, is another. But I appear to have digressed. Sorry about that. I did check this morning and the pricing remains the same.
I am very happy to have gotten over 3/4 of my Christmas cards written out. I am back to work tomorrow so need to check my laundry situation and such. I hope everyone has a relaxing day.
