Good morning,
It is a mix of sunshine and clouds here in NH this morning. A quick check of the weather forecast shows the slightest chance of rain. The radar map shows it sliding past well south of us. I still have my fingers crossed the landscapers will get the garden plots at work tilled before our next drenching which appears to be Sunday into early next week. Rain on Mother's Day isn't much fun. Perhaps it will hold off until later in the day.
I will go visit my Mom this weekend. I have some tomato plants for her. I am chagrined to admit that she only wanted the ones that the family has preserved from seeds. She will get others when I take her plant shopping. She likes her tomato plants to be huge when she puts them out. Mine are still quite small. I did talk her into growing one Dancing with Smurfs. I will also transplant out basil for her. They will be small also. It is hard to find the lettuce leaf basil in garden centers. We also will be potting up plants from her flower beds. At some point, the plan is for my sister and her husband to put an addition on their house and have Mom come live with them. My sister made two new flower beds for Mom to start moving plants that she wishes to bring along. It is a positive sign that Mom was receptive to starting to move plants. Some of the Spring bloomers die back and who knows how you would locate them again until next Spring. So, it appears that she finally has a time table in her mind for this move. I admit it will be a big change for her. I think it is a very positive change but so hard to leave your home of 50 years. I have a stack of pots all ready to go. Will remember to bring along a garden kneeler/seat. I gave her one, but perhaps she left it at the summer place or misplaced it. It will be fun.
I had best get my butt in gear and get some stuff done today. I hope everyone has a lovely day!
